Youth work is an integral part of our Community Development Programme.

It's aim is to develop the capicity of Wicklow Travellers Youth Group to deliver a youth work initiative to local Traveller youth through direct work, networking, fundraising and lobbying.

Our annual Summer Project in July is an event that the children and young people really enjoy and look forward to months in advance.

Every year, we run a Summer Project, which takes place during the month of July. Over the years, the project has developed and expanded from a couple of day trips to a two to three week programme of activities for young Travellers between the ages of 7 to 18years.

The activities have included swimming, horse riding, kick boxing, hikes, bowling, pottery, crazy golf, canoeing; etc

Trips to Dublin Zoo, Kia'Ora Open Farm (Gorey), Kilmainham Gaol, Glendalough, National Aquatic Centre, Knocksink Woods, Clara Lara Funpark, Fort Lucan, The Brockagh Centre in Laragh, Pirates Cove in Courtown, Baltinglass Outdoor Adventure Centre and the older groups (15-18yrs) have gone to Oakwood in Wales, M&D's Theme Park in Scotland and Thorpe Park in London.

Workshops at the centre have included cookery, art & crafts, tin smithing, environmental awareness.
