Our 2013 Summer Project was a great success and greatly helped by the beautiful sunny weather.  The first week in July, we brought a group of 11 – 14yr old girls to the cinema and The Chocolate Garden.  They also did activities such as horse-riding, kayaking, absailing and swimming. They visited two Traveller specific drug projects – hte Daish Project in Bray and another project in Pavee Point.

The second week we had a group of nearly 50 children aged 7 – 10years. They spent the first day in Glendalough, which was fantastic in the sun. Then we visited the Heritage Park in Wexford which was very enjoyable too.  The highlight of their week is always Clara Lara and Kia’Ora Farm. On the last day we had a family day in the local GAA club, where the children played games on the sports grounds and then were entertained by a musician inside. Everyone enjoyed the Bar-b que and sat in the sun eating their burgers and sausages.

The 11 – 14 yr old boys group did activities like horse-riding, kayaking, absailing, swimming and fishing. They also went on a hike in Glendalough. Every day the weather was fantastic for all these outdoor activities.

Then in September, we brought a group of 15 – 18yr old young people over to Thorpe Park in London for a day of fun on the different slides and roller coasters. The trip on the plane was nearly as exciting as the park!
